The Molecular Imaging Society of India (MISI) inaugurated as the Indian affiliate of the WMIS

The Molecular Imaging Society of India (MISI) was inaugurated as the Indian affiliate of the WMIS by Dr. Zaver M. Bhujwalla, immediate past president of the WMIS, during an inaugural meeting held on March 9, 2014 at the Piramal Research Centre in Mumbai, India.

This was the first meeting of Molecular Imaging Society of India (MISI).  Following the inauguration, Dr. Bhujwalla announced the founding executive committee of MISI, as Dr. Swati A. Piramal, President, Dr. N. R. Jagannathan (Professor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi), Vice-President of MISI, and Dr. G. Narayan, Secretary of MISI.  The inauguration and announcement of Executive Officers was followed by an all day session of scientific presentations including a keynote lecture by Dr. Bhujwalla, as well as lectures by several distinguished faculty from across India.

The mission of the Molecular Imaging Society of India (http://www.misi.org.in) is to promote discovery and translational research in multimodality molecular imaging within the Indian subcontinent that will encompass the entire spectrum of basic to clinical research and all disease processes.
