| Kim Pierce has been the Executive Director for the Academy of Molecular Imaging, an international professional society of over 1800 physicians, scientists, technologists, administrators and corporate members. She worked with the Board of Directors and the Society of Molecular Imaging Board of Trustees to complete the merger of the two organizations in 2010 creating the World Molecular Imaging Society.Ms. Pierce was also the Executive Administrator for eight departments at the University of California Medical Center for over 20 years and successfully merged eight UCLA departments under one administrative umbrella, producing a cost saving of over $1.3M in administrative expenses, which was returned to the research programs of the units. She was the President of the Society of Research Administrators and she chaired the national nominating committee and several national and section program committees in that organization for over 20 years.
Ms. Pierce is a breast cancer survivor and a passionate patient advocate. She is a member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition, a board member of the Los Angeles Breast Cancer Alliance and has served on the Board of the California Breast Cancer Research Program. The patient advocacy committee she formed in 1997 and chaired through the Academy of Molecular Imaging was extremely influential in persuading the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to approve reimbursement coverage for positron emission tomography (PET) for a number of oncologic indications including breast cancer. Ms. Pierce grew up in San Diego and spent most of her university career at Scripps Institution of Oceanography before moving to Los Angeles in 1991. |

Dova Levin Bio
Dova got her Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in Psychology with an emphasis in Business. She worked for ten years at UCLA’s Extension program as the Registration and Cashier manager. UCLA Extension registers 100,000 adults for continuing education programs annually. With a cross country move, Dova worked at the United Nations Population Fund in New York City in the Media Relations department. The United Nations Population Fund is an international development agency that promotes the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity. Upon returning to the Southern California’s sunny weather, Dova worked at the University of West Los Angeles Law School as the Marketing Manager for five years before joining the AMI.
Dova Levin is the Administrative Director for the World Molecular Imaging Society. She started working for the Academy of Molecular Imaging in 2005 as the Marketing Manager and within a few months of being employed became the Office Manager. She now oversees all of the Administrative duties of the office both for the society and the annual conference. Dova and her husband, Kacee, enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.
